SASTRA’s Hub for Research and Innovation (SHRI) houses the twin towers “Anusandhan Kendra-I” and “Anusandhan Kendra-II”. These exclusive “Research Light Houses” have been established at a total outlay of Rs 80 crore to provide world-class research infrastructure that are utilized by vibrant inter-disciplinary teams to carry out research in niche areas. The state-of-the-art research facilities are used extensively not only by the SASTRA fraternity, but also by researchers and scholars from industry / academia across the country, thus meeting the vision / expectations of the Government on resource sharing.

Housing services
There are 9 boys' hostel and 6 girls' hostels providing accommodation to over 4000 boys and 2400 girls. The hostels are of the following types:1. Single Room / 2-in-1 / 4-in1 (Bath Attached).
2. Single Room / 2-in-1 / 3-in-1 / 4-in-1 / 5-in-1 / 6-in-1
SASTRA has always believed in catering to the palate and providing wholesome and balanced nutrition in a hygienic environment. A completely balanced vegetarian diet is served in all hostels equipped with steam-cooking facilities. There is also North Indian Cuisine in addition to the South Indian culinary delights.

Saraswathi Sadan, the Central Library of SASTRA is an architectural elegance over an area of about 4,340 sq. m with modern study area, audio–visual room, internet and reprographic facilities. It is the nerve centre of the entire campus catering to the literary and knowledge pursuits of the faculty and students.
Medical services
SASTRA requires a completed health evaluation form including immunization records on all full time students. Medical treatment given by the nursing staff and doctor on campus is offered without charge to all students. Students are responsible for all other costs, including doctor visits off campus, prescriptions, laboratory tests, ambulance service, and hospital care.
Sports facilities
To promote excellence in sports and provide organized relaxation and entertainment, an indoor stadium “MARUTI” has been constructed and equipped with billiards tables, badminton courts, a basketball court, table tennis, and carrom board with indoor lighting facility.
A healthy body houses a healthy mind. To maintain and establish a healthy fitness regime BODY LYRICS, a multipurpose fitness center has been established in the indoor stadium. The sophisticated fitness equipment enables students to work out and maintain a good physique resulting in a healthy psyche. A separate gymnasium and jogging track is available for the girl students.
Student clubs
SASTRA fraternity actively engages in various National Mission projects such as Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat, Skill India, Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan, etc., for the benefit of neighbourhood communities and bring about transformational changes in villages.Rural Empowerment through Vocational and Entrepreneurially Reliant Ecosystem (REVERE), a joint initiative of SASTRA with TATA Trust trains socio-economically challenged rural youth with a monthly stipend of Rs 4,000 through three/six-month programmes on driving, tailoring, cooking, house-keeping, etc., that enables them to gain sustainable livelihood. Thus far, 787 youth have benefitted.
As a University, SASTRA has been re-accredited in the IV cycle with a maximum GRADE 'A++' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission. The Score of 3.76 puts SASTRA as number one university of its type in Tamilnadu and amongst the top in the country.SASTRA DEEMED UNIVERSITY has consistently secured top ranks in the Engineering category by the NIRF.
