History
A vision that began to evolve in 1920 as Marion College laid a firm foundation for what would become Indiana Wesleyan University – a truly dynamic Christian institution. Marion College had humble beginnings. At the time of World War I, there was increasing talk of a college in Indiana to serve the heartland of the growing Wesleyan Methodist denomination.
Education
Indiana Wesleyan University started the as Marion College in 1920, a liberal arts college. In 1985, IWU laid the ground for adult education with the one night a week one course at a time format. In the mid 2000s, the Wesley Seminary opened serving hundred of seminary students across the nation.
Accreditation
- IWU was initially accredited in 1966 by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and has maintained its Accreditation since then. Other agencies and associations also accredit individual IWU programs.

Greatly impressed
I must say the school as a whole is so great, my name is fowose Damilola from Nigeria,I have heard alot about the school and the School relates well with me, They reply to emails very quickly and serve as helping hand, I dnt think there’s anything they’re not doing right,I’m greatly impressed with there services and that is one of the major reason I’m trying my best to get funding so I can complete the MSc program I have been offered.
Excited for the unknown
Well, so far the process at IWU as a grad student has been an easy process. I am in my first year as a online MSW student. My academic advisors have been very helpful. So far, professors have been very kind and helpful. The school provides a lot of resources for students. I give this school 3 stars because I am still learning more about my program, the online tools/resources and need to immerse myself more fully into it. I am excited for the unknown.
