History
- On March 23, 1959, two young men with an idea, a goal, and a pragmatic philosophy to encompass it all, broke away from their careers in a traditional college structure to create a new concept in education.
- Their visionary idea became a reality when Dr. Arthur E. Turner and Dr. R. Gary Stauffer enrolled 100 students at Northwood Institute.

- We view a Northwood University education as an investment in your future. Any person who devotes time to a Northwood education gives up the opportunity to devote that time to all the other pursuits he or she might engage in during that time.

- The Career Services Center can assist you with career exploration, confident and professional self-marketing, LinkedIn networking, developing successful job search techniques, interview preparation and our Northwood University Career Resources.
- We provide many career-related activities and events, including our Career Fairs, Business Etiquette Dinner program, on-campus interviews, employer information sessions and professional workshops.
Housing services
- Northwood’s traditional, dorm room-style residence halls are available for all students. Incoming first-year students will live in Dubois or Miner Hall.
- Designated for students beyond their first year at Northwood University
- Accommodates up to 168 students
- Central air conditioning
- Free laundry facilities (provide your own soap/pods and dryer sheets)
- Adjacent to the Student Union and Student Leadership Center
Medical services
- Northwood University’s on-campus Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on regular class days during the fall and spring semesters.
- The Counseling Center provides free, confidential services for both mental health and personal growth/support.
- Comprised of University Employees who interact with students in a variety of settings, the Care Team meets every two weeks to proactively prevent or reduce problems faced by students.

Sports facilities
- Northwood University is one of the premiere collegiate Esports programs in the country. We offer a 2,000+ square foot, state-of-the-art gaming center that caters to all levels of competitive gaming.
- Since the creation of the program in 2019, our teams have quickly climbed the ranks and claimed multiple national titles in Rocket League and Overwatch.
