History
- Union University is an heir of three antebellum Tennessee schools-West Tennessee College and its predecessor, Jackson Male Academy, both located at Jackson, and of Union University, located at Murfreesboro-and it is the inheritor of another college in 1927, Hall-Moody Junior College of Martin, Tennessee.
- Jackson Male Academy, founded in 1823 shortly after the opening of West Tennessee for settlement, was chartered by the legislature in 1825.

Student services
- We want to provide the atmosphere and resources for students to know wholeness in this community of learners. Our staff psychologist and self-help assessments are here to help you.
- In support of this mission, Union University Counseling Services is staffed by counselors and social workers to assist students with personal counseling. Information shared in the counseling relationship is confidential.
- If you are a minority student who would like to see a counselor of your same ethnicity and we do not have a minority counselor on campus, we are able to refer you to a credentialed minority counseling in the community for care paid for by the university.
Library services
- Union's Library includes a collection of more than 138,000 books plus access to more than 75,000 ebooks, more than 10,000 electronic journals and at least 100 databases.
- Faculty and student library users have individualized accounts that offer access to the campus network, with file storage/sharing, internet access and email.
ICT services
- IT offers technology support, services, resources and information to meet the needs of students, employees and friends of Union University.
- The library's facilities include computer workstations, group study areas, viewing and listening rooms, an instruction lab and tutoring facilities.
Medical services
- Our health clinic provides medical services for minor injuries and illnesses, promotes healthy lifestyles and demonstrates Christ-like care to the students, faculty and staff of Union University.
Campus life
- The uniqueness of the Union University campus, located on U.S. Highway 45 By-Pass and Union University Drive in Northwest Jackson, is related to the academic facilities and student housing.
- Union's campus is designed with the student as its axis.
- All facilities, programs, and personnel are interrelated in an attempt to meet the needs of students.
Sports facilities
- We promote health and wellness and provide individual and team opportunities through the Wellness Center, Activities Center and Intramural Program.
- Join in Union's vibrant intramural program with open participation and friendly team competition. Recent sports include flag football, basketball, disc golf and many more.
Student clubs
- The Student Government Association is the main point at which student leadership and learning converge at Union University.
- Maintained by a unicameral legislative Senate and led by Student Body and Class Executives, the SGA serves the university by supporting legislation that improves existing policies and sponsoring initiatives that enhance school identity.
