History
THIM University of Applied Sciences in Physiotherapy, founded in 1974, has almost fifty years of experience in educating physiotherapists.
Education
With small classes, the THIM University addresses your needs and ensures that you develop into a high-quality healthcare professional. The university does this in an international context where we closely follow and share current developments in physiotherapy from home and abroad.
Career
The Netherlands offers promising career prospects for physiotherapists, with strong demand in various settings like private practices, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers. To work in the Netherlands as a physiotherapist, you need to register at the „BIG“ and have to be capable of speaking Dutch at level B2. A very high number of THIM alumni are also working abroad in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Italy, ….
Student services
THIM‘s central office is also the point of contact for all our students. Since we are a small scale university, we know our students and their needs.
Housing services
There is a shortage of student housing in the Netherlands. That’s why THIM has its own student residences. Depending on availability, we offer students the option to live in one of our student residences.
Library services
THIM mainly specialzes on online literature and resources. We therefore offer our students acces to our digital learning environment and grant access to the renowned PhysioPlus site (by PhysioPedia) and to the online literature of BSL.
ICT services
To be able to work within THIM‘s digital learning environment, you will need to have some kind of digital resources (laptop, notebook, tablet or similar). THIM has a helpdesk which tries to help students with ICT issues.
Campus life
THIM University wants you to feel at home on campus and build a strong relation with fellow students and lecturers. The university is convinced that this increases the enjoyment of the study and therefore the chance of success. You’re always welcome to use the facilities of the university's unique study and practice center, visit the reinforcement education if you have questions or relax in Schenk, the lounge of THIM which offers coffee and water (free of charge) and lunch.
Sports facilities
At THIM‘s site Archimedesbaan, students are allowed to use the training equipment outside of class hours. Beside that, THIM‘s activity committee organizes sports events such as padel and football tournaments regularly.
Student clubs
At THIM you can join the activity committee or the programme committee. Whereas the activity committee takes care of social events for students at THIM, the programme committee focus on the content of the bachelor programme and gives feedback to teachers and management.
Accreditation
The university's physiotherapy program is accredited by the Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie (NVAO). The NVAO is the accreditation body for higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders, ensuring the quality of study programs.
