History
In November 2018, KDU entered into an agreement whereby UOW Global Enterprises, a wholly owned subsidiary of University of Wollongong Australia, acquired a controlling stake in the KDU university colleges and college. Then, in November 2019, the name of the college and university colleges were changed to reflect the stewardship of the University of Wollongong and are now known as UOW Malaysia.
Education
They offer internationally recognised teaching programmes and personalised approach with UOW Malaysia’s state-of-the-art campuses and vibrant, industry-focused programs. These range from Foundation and Bachelor’s Degree to Postgraduate levels in Business, Communication, Creative Arts, Computing, Game Development, Engineering, Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary Arts, and Nursing. Further, it provides a high-quality educational experience that will help shape graduates and foster their growth in becoming future global leaders.
Research
At UOW Malaysia, its research endeavors aim to push the boundaries of knowledge, foster innovation, and address global challenges. They strive to inspire students and academic staff to share their knowledge and serve in the academic field. The Research Centre at UOW Malaysia aims to promote the enjoyment of learning and publishing research.
Housing services
- The UOW Malaysia, Utropolis Glenmarie provides on-campus Student Accommodation at its 10-acre campus. Located next to the academic block, is the Student Accommodation Block covering 7-levels, divided into male and female wings.
- UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College offers student accommodation in several apartments scattered around the vicinity of the college. All these apartments are fully furnished and located within walking distance from the college. Types of room available are based on single, twin-sharing, triple-sharing or quadruple-sharing.
Library services
In support of the Smart Learning and Teaching initiative, the Library provides a range of services that will enhance the quality of teaching, learning and research.
Medical services
The institute is dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of its students. This includes:
- First-aid facilities
- Services and personnel required for the persons suffering from injury or illness at the campus – prescribes stat dose medication only for mild illness (fever, cough, gastric, headache), dressing for minor cut & bleeding, check-up for blood pressure & glucose monitoring.
