The Arqus European University Alliance was formally established in Brussels on 27 November 2018 when the rectors and presidents of our member institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to strengthen the cooperative links which already exist between and among us.
Arqus Joint Master’s Programmes reinforce the commitment of the Alliance to student-centered and research-based learning through joint and flexible curricula. The design of the programmes has involved a common perspective of the Arqus universities on the curriculum and its implementation as well as on the evaluation and accreditation procedures and processes.
Research is one of the missions of our universities and one of the main pillars of the Alliance. Through different projects and activities, Arqus aims to enhance the research and innovation dimension of the Alliance and to address current global societal challenges through intensified joint research, characterised by the pursuit of excellence, openness, transparency, and effective engagement with society.
The Arqus Career Week is an annual 4-5 day programme intended to support PhD and postdoctoral researchers in their exploration and pursuit of career paths beyond university research. The programme offers input and workshops, led by a group of career experts from international backgrounds, to help participants recognize their labour market skills and give insight into application and hiring processes as well as company cultures outside of academia.
The Arqus Induction Pack is a comprehensive guide designed for students joining the Arqus Alliance. It provides a warm welcome and introduces students to the Alliance’s mission and values. The pack includes information on campus resources and support services, a schedule of events, and aims to ensure and foster a sense of belonging within the Arqus community.
The Arqus Student Agora is an umbrella initiative for diverse student-led groupings conceived as drivers for students to act as co-creators of our new European University, in academic, social and cultural affairs. The Arqus Student Agora is conceived as a safe space for students at partner universities to actively improve their European University experience.
