History
Founded in 1879 by eight physicians, UAMS has grown into a statewide health system, leading the way in health care, education, and research and dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all Arkansans.
Research
Our research initiatives in Northwest Arkansas have secured over 70 million dollars in grant funding, supporting more than 75 projects aimed at reducing health disparities statewide. The Institute for Community Health Innovation leads these efforts, focusing on family wellness, nutrition, and diabetes prevention.

The Northwest campus is one of nine regional campuses, which generate over 600 jobs and contribute to the state’s economy. In fiscal year 2024, our Family Medical Centers at these regional campuses recorded over 135,000 outpatient visits, ensuring that quality health care is accessible to Arkansans wherever they live.

Hands-on learning, vibrant campus life
The lecturers provided excellent and thorough teaching. However, the practical lessons could be improved to make them even better.
Very good because it�s self explanatory.
It is a really good university because it does not only consider training students intellectually but also morally and professionally so as to meet the standards of the economy and its professionalism.
