Institute for Equity, University Centre

History

Founded in July 2020 as Educational Equity Services, the Institute for Equity, University Centre has grown into a premier research-led authority. We became an accredited NCFE centre in 2024 and achieved university centre status in 2025, partnering with Buckinghamshire New University. Today, we deliver flexible, high-impact online postgraduate degrees across our three specialised schools.

Education

At the Institute for Equity, University Centre, we deliver high-quality, practical postgraduate education designed for busy professionals. Our programmes, including our executive MBA, Level 7 diplomas, and the prestigious EDI Fellowship©, are validated and accredited by Buckinghamshire New University and NCFE.

Research

The Institute for Equity, University Centre is a specialist, research-led authority on leadership, organisational effectiveness, and professional standards. Our research focuses on practical, real-world solutions. We publish the peer-reviewed academic journal "Equity in Education & Society" in partnership with SAGE. We also conduct independent research and equity audits for major organisations to help them identify structural problems and improve workplace culture. Because our teaching is directly built on this ongoing research, our students learn the most up-to-date, evidence-based strategies to lead transformation.

Student services

Learner Support Architecture guides you from start to finish. You will have full access to IEUC’s Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) for your online study resources, assessment guidelines, and results. You will also be supported by a Learner Journey Manager for course queries and progression, and a Programme Manager/Tutors for academic questions. Finally, a dedicated Case Study Mentor will guide you on research design and choosing case study evidence. You will never study alone; our entire support team is here to help you succeed.

Housing services

Because our programmes are 100% online, there is no need to relocate, pay for accommodation, or worry about student visas.

Library services

100% Digital Library: Students get full online access to IEUC’s reading repository, and Sage Journals, including our own journal, Equity in Education & Society. You can access thousands of academic journals, e-books, and research databases 24/7 from anywhere in the world.

ICT services

100% Online ICT Support: As a fully online provider, we do not offer physical computers or internet access on campus. However, we provide complete, remote IT support. Our technical team helps you easily set up and access your Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), online course resources, digital library databases, and student portals from your own computer at home.

Medical services

We have no physical medical facilities on campus, but our Quality & Professional Learning team provides comprehensive SEND support under the UK Code of Practice. Guided by the Equality Act, we offer tailored reasonable adjustments for online learners, including individual tutorials, modified learning materials, and assessment arrangements.

Campus life

Our programmes are delivered 100% online, meaning we do not have a physical student campus. While our offices are located in Huddersfield, you do not need to travel to them.

Sports facilities

As a fully online university centre, we do not have physical sports facilities or gymnasiums.

Student clubs

N/A (100% Online) & Professional Networking: As a fully online provider, we do not host physical recreational or arts clubs. Instead, we focus heavily on professional community and career networking. All enrolled learners receive automatic, complimentary annual Institute Membership.
