Library services

  • With over £9 million being invested in refurbishing the Library and Learning Commons areas, Edinburgh students can expect high quality, technology-enabled study spaces. 
  • With over 700 individual and group study places in the library, 200 in Learning Commons 1 and another 100 in Learning Commons 2 there is plenty of space for you to study, whether on your own or in groups.

ICT services

  • Heriot-Watt's network of PCs can be accessed from academic Schools, the library, and some halls of residence.
  • The Eduroam wireless service is provided for staff and students, giving the flexibility of easy access to Eduroam wireless services on campus and at other participating institutions.

Medical services

  • At Edinburgh Campus, we have a purpose-built health centre housing the Medical Centre and Dental Practice, which provides the full range of UK National Health Service (NHS) medical and dental services.
  • The department has a full complement of medical, dental and nursing staff, as well as a community team that provides services such as psychiatric nursing, midwifery, and health visiting.

Sports facilities

  • In 2016, our Edinburgh Campus became home to Oriam, Scotland's National Sports Performance Centre.
  • Oriam adds to Heriot-Watt's well-established sports facilities which are already some of the best in the country. The new multi-purpose development will support you to develop your full potential as an athlete, making our Edinburgh Campus a vibrant place of high-level sport. 
  • Oriam aims to be a collaborative environment to support Scotland's up-and-coming sports men and women, their coaches and volunteers, to train and prepare for competition at the highest levels. 

Student clubs

The Sports Union is a student-led organisation offering Heriot-Watt students the perfect opportunity to join a club, receive coaching and compete in their chosen sport at higher education level.
