History

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts was founded in 1997 under the Intercantonal Council of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Central Switzerland (FHZ).

Education

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts fulfils its mandate in the four areas of education, continuing and executive education, applied research and development, and services. The bachelor's and master's degree programmes follow the requirements of business, culture and civil society and prepare students for the needs of the job market.   • The student organisations of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts represent the interests of the students of the particular Schools of the University.
  • The School's student committee, STA, safeguards and promotes the interests of all students attending the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture. 
  • STAIR is the association of all students attending the Lucerne School of Computer Science and Information Technology. 

The Lucerne School of Business at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts has received the well-known international AACSB accreditation after a five-year process. AACSB is considered the world's leading organisation for the certification of business schools. Only around six percent of the world's business schools have the seal of approval.
