Great experience
I had a very positive experience at Vytautas Magnus University. The teachers are professional, supportive, and always willing to help students understand the material. The university also has a friendly environment, and the staff members are helpful and welcoming, especially for international students.
One thing I would improve is the way group projects are organized. In many classes, students choose their own groups, but I think it would be better if teachers created the groups themselves. This could improve communication and interaction between international and local students, helping everyone feel more included and creating a stronger learning environment.

Master in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
Good communication with the University
Helpful staff
all facilities are modern and clean.
some lack of lab works sometimes, some questionable courses here and there, but it could be a demand of the local market.
talking about the job market, it seems to be active in biotechnology and agriculture, a lot of opportunities.
if you don't mind the cold winter, its perfect destination for Biologists.

A Passionate Biotechnology Student
My Study Experience and Journey in Biotechnology
Choosing what and where to study was one of the most important decisions in my academic journey. Coming from Rwanda, I wanted to study a field that would provide strong scientific knowledge and allow me to contribute to my community. I therefore chose to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Food Biotechnology at INES Ruhengeri.
My studies have been challenging but highly rewarding. I have gained knowledge in microbiology, food chemistry, food engineering, and laboratory sciences. Practical laboratory work has been especially valuable because it has strengthened my scientific, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
As I progressed through my studies, my interests expanded from food applications to biomedical and pharmaceutical biotechnology. I became interested in how biotechnology can contribute to medicine development, pharmaceutical quality control, laboratory analysis, and healthcare innovation.
After completing my Bachelor's degree, my goal is to pursue a Master's degree in Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Analysis. I believe this field will help me develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in biotechnology, pharmaceutical analysis, laboratory research, and quality control. In the future, I hope to apply this expertise to scientific research, pharmaceutical development, and healthcare in Rwanda and beyond.
My academic journey has also taught me persistence, discipline, and the importance of choosing opportunities that match my long-term goals. I encourage other students to consider not only a university's reputation, but also the quality of its programs, research opportunities, scholarships, costs, and career prospects.
My journey in Food Biotechnology has given me a strong foundation and a clear vision for my future in biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences.
