About
History
The University of Hull was founded in 1927 – originally as University College Hull. The foundation stone was laid the following year by the Duke of York (later King George VI, of The King's Speech fame) and we opened for business with 39 students and 14 ‘one-man’ departments.
In November 2019 the University announced its ambition to become Carbon Neutral by 2027.

Student services
Each of our students are allocated a Personal Supervisor to meet throughout the year who give academic advice and are your first point of contact for feedback and guidance. Whilst our Student Services Team provide advice on matters like health and wellbeing, visas and immigration, money and learning support – ensuring you get the most out of everything the university has to offer.
Housing services
Westfield Court is the newest and most exciting development on campus specifically designed for student life. With contemporary living and social spaces and a wide range of accommodation options, Hull’s single-site campus has everything you need to complete your student experience.
Library services
The University of Hull provides access to a wide range of electronic resources helping you to trace books and articles, track down internet resources and view the full text of journal articles from your own device. Most of the resources can be found in, and accessed from the Library Catalogue. The Library Catalogue also includes many valuable resources and archives.
ICT services
The Service Desk is your first point of call for all University ICT queries. They provide friendly and helpful support and advice on ICT account access, printing and scanning, connecting to WiFi, accessing email, software provision, file storage, remote working and information security.

Sports facilities
Hull has enhanced the sports facilities as part of a £300-million investment into the campus. The development included the Allam Sports Centre complete with an eight-court sports hall, 120-station fitness suite, floodlit pitch and pitchside changing rooms.
