About

Education

  • We offer educational programmes at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral levels.
  • The international programmes attract students globally and nests within our four University Faculties. All faculties collaborate interdisciplinary and work crossdimensionally. Sustainability and global responsibility is in our DNA and aspects widely and deeply reflected upon in our programs and courses.
  • It is important for us to be lean and to develop our educational programmes in close collaboration with business and industry. This makes our education and research up to date and increases our quality. It also supports our students with networks to use for building career after graduation.

Research

  • The University of Borås conducts research with a sustainability focus. Most of our research projects investigate ways of spread more long-term and lifecycle knowledge over all. We prefer to make inter disciplinary approaches in order to get new perspectives on exciting issues. 
  • As we are one of very few universities in Sweden with rights to conduct artistic research in Textiles and Fashion these research teams in are very well known and quoted globally.

Career

  • Our Career Services is the link between you, as a student, and the labour market. Career Services will offer a range of different activities to help you, as a student, when you enter the labour market.
  • To help you as a student make good contacts within the business community, the university runs, among other things, a service known as “Företag söker dig” (Companies looking for you). 
  • You can find job advertisements aimed at students from both local and national companies with offers of degree project jobs, summer jobs, internships, or employment after you have completed your studies.

Student services

The University of Borås can offer you help and support in study related matters.

  • The Student Ombudsman can help you if you feel that you have been subject to unacceptable behaviour by the university staff or other students.
  • The Study Counsellors can give you advice on the different courses that the University of Borås as well as other universities in Sweden have to offer.

Housing services

The University of Borås does not have a campus with student housing, which means that all students are responsible for booking their own accommodation. However, the International Office cooperates with the local housing agency in Borås and can assist admitted exchange students with how to find a place to stay.

Library services

The University Library’s main users are the university's students, researchers, and staff. Some of the library's services are also offered to other libraries, students from other universities, and the public. The University Library at University of Borås is known to be one of the best libraries in Sweden.

ICT services

There are several computer rooms available for students on campus. There is also free wi-fi in all buildings belonging to the University of Borås.

Medical services

The Student Health Care which includes social counsellors and a nurse.

Campus life

Located right in the city centre, the university’s campus provides you with what you need to fulfill your needs for studying. The campus is not only is a place to meet and have fun, it is a place to prepare and empower yourself for your future career. 
  • On campus you will meet and learn from students, teachers, technicians, professors, researchers, support teams as well as business and industry representatives. In addition to lecture halls, restaurants and cafés, the campus also hosts one of the country’s best university libraries. 

Sports facilities

When being a student in Boras you have the nature around the corner. Just a few steps and you can breathe fresh air and go for a hike. Maybe just have a “forrest bath” among the trees or a swim in the lake. Nature is a great place for your body and mind to rest, exercise, contemplate and reflect on your studies or even to study in.

Student clubs

  • The Student Union works to ensure that you as a student have the best possible experience at the university. Through events, social activities, and staying informed about the university’s educational programmes, the Student Union helps you in both in your studies and leisure time.
  • At the University of Borås, there are several independent associations, organisations, and clubs for those who want to get involved or to meet like-minded people and just have fun.
