The University of Borås was founded in 1977. We strongly believe in giving our students knowledge and skills which they will be able to use in their working life.
At the University of Borås, you can choose among over 60 Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes relevant to your future career. We offer unique programmes in many subject areas, several of which can only be found here and which attract students from all over. Working closely with business, industry, and the public sector, our research and educational programmes are of a high international standard and are relevant to society at large.

The Student Ombudsman at the University of Borås gives support to students in studyrelated matters.
The University of Borås does not have a campus with student housing, which means that all students are responsible for booking their own accommodation. However, the International Office cooperates with the local housing agency in Borås and can assist admitted exchange students with how to find a place to stay.
The University Library at the University of Borås is one of the best libraries in Sweden. At the University Library, you can book group rooms, loan course literature, top up the funds in your printing account, and get help and support from our librarians. The library also organises activities such as breakfasts and seminars.
Students at the University of Borås have access to the Student Health Care Centre at the university.
The employees at the Student Health Care Centre have an understanding of students' lifestyles. We work with preventative healthcare and provide individual support. We also offer support through counselling or certain treatments.
The campus is located in modern, purpose built buildings in the city centre within walking distance of local amenities such as shops, restaurants, banks, supermarkets and the main bus and train stations. Public transportation in Borås is both safe and reliable and as a result many of our students choose to live in the surrounding region and commute to the university.
The University of Borås offers 2,000 SEK per year and employee as a health and fitness activities benefit. The benefit is to be used for activities connected with physical exercise such as an annual membership at a gym, sports including balls and rackets etc., but not e.g. massage.Time-limited employees with employment terms of up to six months have their benefit reduced to 1,000 SEK. If the employment is extended another six months the employee will receive the remaining benefit of 1,000 SEK.
