On the St. John’s campus students have access to plenty of teaching facilities, support services, Students’ Union, student’s shop and bar, cafeterias, canteen, on-campus accommodation and 24/7 security and outdoor sporting pitches.
The University has excellent facilities supporting participation in sport, exercise and recreation, as well as academic study pathways. Students wishing to use the exercise facilities pay a small membership fee.

My study experience was complex and deeply transformative, shaped by both valuable academic exposure and serious personal challenges. On one hand, I appreciated the diversity of the student body and the opportunity to engage with people from different cultural and academic backgrounds. This environment allowed me to broaden my perspective, improve my communication skills, and develop a more global outlook. I also valued the academic structure in certain courses, where I was introduced to new ways of thinking and analyzing social and political issues. However, my experience was significantly affected by difficulties that went beyond academics. I faced discrimination and exclusion due to my personal beliefs, particularly my stance on the war in Ukraine and my support for human rights, including the LGBTQ+ community. These circumstances created an environment where I did not feel safe expressing my views openly. Additionally, I was denied a scholarship under conditions that I perceived as unfair, which limited my ability to continue my studies with stability and dignity. What could be improved is the creation of a more inclusive and respectful academic environment—one where students are not judged or penalized for their beliefs, and where diversity of thought is encouraged rather than suppressed. Universities should foster open dialogue, protect academic freedom, and ensure equal opportunities for all students regardless of their personal or political views. In summary, my study experience was a mixture of academic growth and personal hardship. While I gained important knowledge and resilience, the challenges I faced ultimately highlighted the importance of studying in an environment that values freedom, inclusivity, and mutual respect. These experiences have strengthened my determination to pursue my education in a setting where I can fully express myself and contribute positively to the academic community.
Decent enough university would recommend to anyone considering joining here. I campus facilities are excellent and people are always willing to help you out, you just have to ask. In general I'm so happy that I picked this uni, and would definitely recommend it to my friends.
Lots of students commute and there just isn't the parking available, generally staff have been quite helpful and always able to book tutorials with them for help. Have never tried the food but I hear its quite good
