History

Founded in 1836, the University of London made higher education available to women and those unable to pursue traditional forms of study. In 1858, we became the birthplace of long distance learning, allowing students outside of London to study for world-class degrees all around the world.

Education

At the University of London, we are committed to making our high quality teaching, research and flexible programmes accessible to all students.

Career

The Careers Group includes over 200 careers and employability professionals and employability consultants working across its member services. The majority of staff are based within the member institutions, providing expertise and experience to support undergraduates and postgraduates, research staff and recent graduates; liaising with graduate recruiters from all sectors; and working with academic and other staff to embed employability learning within the student experience.

Housing services

We have a wide range of accommodation options across London to suit every requirement. All University of London students can apply to live in our Intercollegiate Halls. The larger member institutions have their own halls, but a number of the smaller, more specialised institutions do not.

The University of London Housing Services are also able to offer advice to students and staff seeking accommodation in the private sector and have a range of flats available to all students of the University.

For students looking to study off-campus, Amber Student has stepped in to offer a home away from home while providing affordable, safe, and hygienic student accommodation in London.

Library services

A service dedicated to students of the University of London's Distance learning community. We provide online resources, professional support and guidance to all our students whenever, and from wherever they have chosen to study.

Campus life

London is one of the most vibrant, creative and cosmopolitan cities in the world. By applying to one of the member institutions or academic departments of the University of London, you will have the chance to study at a world-class institution in the heart of the city.
