Education

It's important that you enjoy studying at Greenwich and have the opportunity to excel. The courses are designed in conjunction with business and industry and use the latest research-informed curricula. We will support and encourage you to achieve your best possible outcome.

Technology plays a big role in our teaching. An example of this is lecture capture, which allows you to revisit lectures online and on-demand. The staff have the resources to make multimedia a key part of your learning experience.

Research

Research programmes at Greenwich are at the leading edge of progress in a range of industries. The staff and students contribute significantly to developing knowledge and understanding that improves business practices, influences policymakers, and sets standards in the wider community for the UK and worldwide.

Student services

  • Employability Office

Our wide range of Employability projects and team of advisers help students develop their skills, confidence, professional connections and knowledge of the job market.

  • Generator Team

Our centre helps students and graduates to develop entrepreneurial skills, start new ventures, and connect with experts via our 1-1 appointments, funding competitions, events and co-workspace.

Housing services

Students based at our Greenwich Campus can choose from four halls within walking distance of the university and the Student Village at Avery Hill, which is a short ride on our free shuttle bus.

Library services

The university libraries are filled with so much more than books. They are great places to work, or collaborate quietly with computers, printers and scanners throughout.

The library has its own dedicated resource, LibGuides, which specialises in information ranging from the subject related resources for your courses, to guidance on copyright rules, employability and even filming in the libraries!

ICT services

The IT Service Desk is the first point of contact for all problems and queries relating to our services and software. Our dedicated team of First Line Support staff have a broad knowledge and in many cases can deal directly with requests.

Medical services

We strongly advise students to register with a doctor as soon as they enrol at the University of Greenwich, so that they can obtain immediate medical advice and assistance if they fall ill or have an accident.

Students who live on, or near to, the Avery Hill Campus can join the Avery Hill Medical Centre, while students on the Greenwich and Medway campuses can register with a General Practitioner.

Campus life

The University of Greenwich has invested heavily in its learning and social spaces to offer world-class study facilities in London.

The £76-million Stockwell Street Building opened in 2014 and is now home to the campus library, film and TV studios, and state-of-the-art editing suites.

Our new £25-million Dreadnought Building is a central hub for the Greenwich Campus, with further teaching and social spaces. The neighbouring Stephen Lawrence Gallery showcases the work of contemporary artists.

Greenwich Campus also has an on-site bar, two coffee shops, and a number of places to grab a bite to eat.

Student clubs

Whether it be learning something new or meeting people who share your interests, at Greenwich, we pride ourselves on giving students as much chance as possible to get involved.

Being part of a Society can teach you a lot of skills like teamwork and organisation. Many of our Societies hold events, so if you are interested in event management then a society could be a great first step.

We're proud to be accredited by top professional bodies. Some will even allow you to gain professional exemptions, study support resources and networking events.
