The Hague University of Applied Sciences

Let’s change. You. Us. The world. That’s our message at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS). The University wants to empower students to change and improve the world they live in, but this can only happen if we work together – if we evolve and change.

Top reasons to study here

  • THUAS is a secure, hands-on environment where we can develop and innovate as global citizens – to come together to share in development, networking and practice
  • Our lecturers, partners and 26,000 students from nearly 150 different countries are dedicated to this development every day.
  • The Hague is the perfect location to become a global citizen.

  • The Hague University of Applied Sciences consists of faculties, research groups and service departments. More than 25,000 students are enrolled in a Bachelor, Master or post-graduate programme at one of the four sites and more than 1900 people work at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, 65% of whom are in an education-related position and 35% in a support position.

In addition to providing education, THUAS conducts practice oriented research. We are building seven Centres of Expertise, each with their own theme.

You face an important decision in your life: which study should you choose? You may already know exactly what you want to study. On the other hand, you may have no idea which programme to choose. We would be happy to help you with this process. The Study & Career Centre at The Hague University of Applied Sciences organizes a variety of activities to help you choose a study that is right for you.

Student services

Our study choice advisors are also available to help you make the right study choice during the corona crisis. Not in person at THUAS, but online or over the phone. You can use this period to take the time to explore and research your interests and the opportunities that are available.

Housing services

  • The Hague is bursting with culture and creativity and offers students an all-round experience, from galleries packed with Dutch masters to idyllic beaches and parks and buzzing nightclubs. It's a small- scale, hospitable city with an international attitude. We understand that you would like to live in such a radiant city, needless to say, there is a shortage of student accommodation in and around The Hague. Therefore, THUAS cooperates with accommodation providers who offer student rooms to our firstyear incoming international students who do not yet have a registered address in the Netherlands. With this service, THUAS can assist approximately 50% of the incoming students.

Library services

The library catalogue searches the following resources: books (40,000), journals (200), CDs and DVDs and a subset of the e-books (100,000) and e-journals (20,000). The shelf marks and availability are shown.

ICT services

When working on an assignment, preparing for an exam or meeting with other students, you can use a variety of specially designed work and study areas on all of our campuses. You can also log into ‘our’ wireless network with your laptop, tablet or smartphone. Of course, we also have ‘fixed’ computer workstations.
