History
The University of Adelaide was founded in 1874 with two complementary goals: to prepare new generations of leaders who were distinguished and shaped by education, not birth or wealth; and to challenge societal norms that hindered progress or reinforced inequality. They soon succeeded.

Housing services
The University of Adelaide Village
- The Village is the largest of the University managed student accommodation options. Situated in Adelaide’s central business district in the dynamic Central Market and Chinatown precinct.
Mattanya Student Residences
- A fifteen minute walk to North Terrace campus and five minutes from the trendy Melbourne Street café and restaurant precinct, Mattanya offers comfortable, convenient and independent living in a quiet suburban location.
Roseworthy Residential College
- Roseworthy Residential college accommodation is only available to students of the University’s rural campus, which is located 50 km north of the city campus and offers students the benefits of on-campus residential living.

- The University Library is here to help you succeed with your studies.
- It's true that they have lots of books (and eBooks!). But they also have a range of other services and resources to help you with your study, from computers and scanners to individual study spaces and group study rooms.
Medical services

North Terrace
- Situated in the cultural heart of Adelaide, North Terrace campus is the University's main campus
- Located 50km north of Adelaide, Rosworthy campus is the major centre for South Australia’s animal and veterinary science research and teaching
- Located 7km south of Adelaide in Urrbrae and covering 300 acres, Waite campus is home to the largest concentration of agricultural research and teaching expertise in the Southern Hemisphere
- Located on the western fringe of the city in Docklands, Melbourne campus is a collaboration with University of Adelaide College

Fitness Hub
- Three locations fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and a functional fitness area.
Park 12
- Regarded as the best playing fields in South Australia, home to the historical Park 12 grandstand.
Park 10
- Situated in the middle of the Uni loop, which is home to the Graduates Clubhouse and our Lawn Tennis Courts.
West Beach Playing Fields
- A multi-sport hub developed for both competitive sports and recreational pursuits.

- The Students Hubs are about embracing the future of university life right in the heart of one of the most historic campuses in Australia. As the third oldest university in Australia, they have a much-loved historic sandstone front, but they also have a vibrant and exhilarating student heart.
- In 2011 Hub Central (the first hub) became the physical home for this heart, a front door to the North Terrace Campus, and a new meeting and learning space for all students.
