Humanities (1)

Wesleyan University was founded in 1831 by Methodist leaders and Middletown citizens. Instruction began with 48 students of varying ages, the president, three professors, and one tutor; tuition was $36 per year.

Wesleyan University is dedicated to providing a bold, rigorous education in the liberal arts that values putting ideas into practice. With 45 majors, 29 minors, and 3 certificate programs to choose from, Wesleyan students get the flexibility to explore their many academic interests and passions, take chances, question the status quo, and flourish in an academic culture that prizes collaboration over competition.

The Office of Institutional Research conducts research and analyses to support University planning and assist with the development of academic and administrative policies.

The Gordon Career Center works with students of all class years to translate their liberal education into a lifetime of meaningful work.

The Center’s innovative approach to career education encourages students to design their own careers by exploring the intersection among their interests, the skills they have and wish to acquire, and market demand. The Gordon Career Center links students to alumni and employers across the globe in fields that reflect the impressive breadth of opportunities explored by Wesleyan graduates.

Student services

The Office of International Student Affairs provides advice and counsel on every aspect of international students' adjustment to life at Wesleyan--cultural, academic, personal, financial, and immigration. The Office also organizes International Student Orientation and ongoing programs that explore the complexities and intersections among U.S. diversity, international issues, and global citizenship.

Housing services

Each residence hall at Wesleyan has its own personality and advantages. Living in residence halls includes living in communities with at least one upper-class student who serves as Student Staff. Student Staff develop community, provide opportunities for social and educational growth, and serve as a resource to help you learn about Wesleyan. Each residential unit includes a laundry room with card-operated washers and dryers.

Student rooms are furnished with one Twin XL bed, dresser, desk, and chair for each resident of the room. Additionally, closets and/or wardrobes are provided.  Rooms are equipped with one high-speed internet access port per person, along with wireless connection.

Library services

The Wesleyan University Library fosters teaching, learning, and research by engaging with the Wesleyan community in the discovery and exploration of information and knowledge creation.

ICT services

Staffed by Wesleyan students working in conjunction with ITS professional staff, the ITS Helpdesk is the primary initial point of contact for Wesleyan University faculty, staff, and students seeking assistance with ITS delivered services and support.
