The institution was founded by Ioannis Gregoriou in 1961 under the name Cyprus College, to provide students with well-rounded programs of study combining academic and practical knowledge. The College became European University Cyprus in 2007, following a change in the law to allow the operation of private universities in Cyprus.
European University Cyprus has six schools: the School of Arts and Education Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Sciences, the School of Law and the School of Medicine.

The European University Cyprus Career Office was established in 1989 and provides students and alumni with comprehensive career advice. The Office maintains links to a wide range of local and regional public- and private-sector enterprises and organizations, as well as offering a range of personal and career development services.
Students in need of personal counseling should contact the Office of Student Affairs to arrange a confidential, one-on-one meeting with a qualified professional. The service is also available to academic and administrative personnel to help individuals cope with any emotional and psychological challenges.
Each student is assigned an Advisor, responsible for assisting the student in defining and developing realistic educational goals, in keeping with his/her abilities, skills, interests, and career aspirations. Advisors are also responsible for ensuring the student is aware of university regulations and policies.

The academic library was, is, and always will be an integral part of learning. Even in this digital age, the library has a lot to offer by managing online data, weaving and sorting electronic sources, and providing support to users who are constantly bombarded by electronic information.
The Library is fully computerized in order to assist librarians and students in a variety of ways. Computer terminals are available for the users providing access to the Internet. There are 17 public workstations supporting the needs of users, 3 stations for searching the Library’s cataloguing system and 1 station used by the librarians in assisting users and providing training courses.
The First Aid and Emergency Unit is located at the ground floor of the West Block next to the University cafeteria and the Student Relationship Centre. The unit is fully equipped with the appropriate medical equipment and supplies for the provision of First Aid to the University community. The unit is headed by a professional nurse who is also an instructor of nursing.
The ideal location of the University, which is in one of the greenest areas of the capital, ensures the beauty of the surrounding countryside, and ease of access to some of the capital’s major business, governmental and social resources. European University Cyprus offers a campus that is large enough to provide all the facilities every student needs, but still compact enough to retain a friendly atmosphere and a sense of community in which each individual is important.
The European University Cyprus campus consists of the South, the West, the East and the North block buildings, the Tower Building B and the Tower Building C, all equipped with facilities necessary to a modern higher educational institution.
The Gymnastic Center is located at the basement of the West Block building. The center is equipped with about 30 electronic and manual fitness machines, lockers and separate changing rooms for male and female students. The center employs professional trainers who can offer.
European University Cyprus has one of the best indoor athletic facilities in the country. With a seating capacity of over 400, the Athletic Center is used for a variety of student athletic activities including volleyball, basketball, corfball, indoor soccer and handball.

The University offers a variety of clubs and student Associations, 10 intercollegiate teams, sports, and student government. Extra curricular activities ranging from Legal Rhetoric Speech Contest, Cultural Night, Meditation, BBQs, Parties, Excursions and Festivals, complement an active campus life and offer ample opportunity for fun and memories.
