About

History

European University Cyprus was established as Cyprus College in 1961 and was granted university status in 2007. Over the last decade, the university has fostered a culture of modernization that has resulted in levels of growth that have exceeded all expectations, upgrading the quality of tertiary education in Cyprus and defining a clear international orientation for the university and the country.

Career

The European University Cyprus Career Center was established in 1989 and provides students and alumni with comprehensive career advice. The Office maintains links to a wide range of local and regional public- and private-sector enterprises and organizations, as well as offering a range of personal and career development services.

Student services

Students in need of personal counseling should contact the Office of Student Affairs to arrange a confidential, one-on-one meeting with a qualified professional. The service is also available to academic and administrative personnel to help individuals cope with any emotional and psychological challenges.

Each student is assigned an Advisor, responsible for assisting the student in defining and developing realistic educational goals, in keeping with his/her abilities, skills, interests, and career aspirations. Advisors are also responsible for ensuring the student is aware of university regulations and policies.

Housing services

The European University Cyprus Housing Office is committed to creating a safe and well-maintained environment that promotes community values and fosters security, student comfort and development. At European University Cyprus we are very proud of our housing facilities which have been chosen and designed to address specific needs. We offer a range of high quality housing options, all located close to campus. The housing facilities can contribute not only to your academic achievement but to your social and recreational life as well.

Library services

The Library of European University Cyprus for over 25 years has strived to maintain not only a level of academic excellence but also of flexibility in order to be among the first to adopt to the changes that take place in regards to traditional teaching and teaching methodology. The Library is fully computerized in order to assist librarians and students in a variety of ways.  

Medical services

The First Aid and Emergency Unit is located at the ground floor of the West Block next to the University cafeteria and the Student Relationship Centre. The unit is fully equipped with the appropriate medical equipment and supplies for the provision of First Aid to the University community. The unit is headed by a professional nurse who is also an instructor of nursing.

Campus life

The ideal location of the University, which is in one of the greenest areas of the capital, ensures the beauty of the surrounding countryside, and ease of access to some of the capital’s major business, governmental and social resources. European University Cyprus offers a campus that is large enough to provide all the facilities every student needs, but still compact enough to retain a friendly atmosphere and a sense of community in which each individual is important.

The European University Cyprus campus consists of the South, the West, the East and the North block buildings, the Tower Building B and the Tower Building C, all equipped with facilities necessary to a modern higher educational institution.

Student clubs

Student life is an important aspect of university education as it can offer a unique opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills. Campus life at European University Cyprus focuses on the intellectual, occupational, social and cultural growth and nurturing of students.

The University offers a variety of clubs and student Associations, 10 intercollegiate teams, sports, and student government. Extra curricular activities ranging from  Legal Rhetoric Speech Contest, Cultural Night, Meditation, BBQs, Parties, Excursions and Festivals, complement an active campus life and offer ample opportunity for fun and memories.
