European University Cyprus was established as Cyprus College in 1961 and was granted university status in 2007. Over the last decade, the university has fostered a culture of modernization that has resulted in levels of growth that have exceeded all expectations, upgrading the quality of tertiary education in Cyprus and defining a clear international orientation for the university and the country.
Presently, European University Cyprus has five schools: the School of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the School of Sciences, the School of Law and the School of Medicine. In addition, European University Cyprus operates a Distance Education Unit.

The European University Cyprus Career Center was established in 1989 and provides students and alumni with comprehensive career advice. The Office maintains links to a wide range of local and regional public- and private-sector enterprises and organizations, as well as offering a range of personal and career development services.
Students in need of personal counseling should contact the Office of Student Affairs to arrange a confidential, one-on-one meeting with a qualified professional. The service is also available to academic and administrative personnel to help individuals cope with any emotional and psychological challenges. A counselor, Dr. Antonia Koliaraki, is available on campus for consultation by appointment throughout the academic year.

European University Cyprus manages five modern buildings (Cyprialife Residence, Perfect House, Pouros House, Serenity House, Harmony House) located minutes from the University to meet the increasing housing needs of students. The Housing Facilities offer superior living conditions and they have been designed to ensure privacy, comfort and independence to residents. The buildings consist of studio, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments.
The Library of European University Cyprus for over 28 years has strived to maintain not only a level of academic excellence but also of flexibility in order to be among the first to adopt to the changes that take place in regards to traditional teaching and teaching methodology.
Microsoft has selected European University Cyprus to be its partner institution for the establishment of the only Microsoft Innovation Center in Cyprus. The operation of The Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) at European University Cyprus will have an enormous impact on students, faculty, IT professionals, researchers, the economy and society at large.
The First Aid and Emergency Unit is located at the ground floor of the West Block next to the University cafeteria and the Student Relationship Centre. The unit is fully equipped with the appropriate medical equipment and supplies for the provision of First Aid to the University community. The unit is headed by a professional nurse who is also an instructor of nursing.
European University Cyprus offers a campus that is large enough to provide all the facilities every student needs, but still compact enough to retain a friendly atmosphere and a sense of community in which each individual is important.
The Gymnastic Center is located at the basement of the West Block building. The center is equipped with about 30 electronic and manual fitness machines, lockers and separate changing rooms for male and female students. The center employs professional trainers who can offer advice and supervise weight loss, toning, muscle building, physiotherapy and conditioning.
European University Cyprus has one of the best indoor athletic facilities in the country. With a seating capacity of over 400, the Athletic Center is used for a variety of student athletic activities including volleyball, basketball, korfball, indoor soccer and handball.
European University Cyprus hosts an outstanding variety of clubs, from discussion groups to community outreach, music, and sports, with more added every year. Students are actively encouraged to take part in club activities, as an important part of personal and social development.
