Nearly eight decades ago, Maxwell F. Marcuse, an authority and pioneer in the fields of education and retail, was asked by leading retailers to create an educational institution for the business of fashion and merchandising. In 1939 Mr. Marcuse founded what was originally known as the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM) and in 2009 became LIM College.

Our campus is built around the center of the business of fashion.LIM College’s business degree programs (associate degrees, the bachelor of business administration degrees in Fashion Merchandising, Management, Marketing, and Visual Studies, bachelor of science in International Business, and the bachelor of professional studies) are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). LIM College’s bachelor of business administration in the Business of Fashion is considered to be in candidacy for ACBSP accreditation.

The university promotes holistic level of development among students, through integrating practical learning with theoretical knowledge. The various clubs and societies helps to develop the relevant skills among students and the events organised at the university helps the students in balancing their academics with social life. Overall the university life at iilm University is really good.
My experience at IILM has been a mix of learning, exposure, and personal growth. The university focuses a lot on overall development not just academics, but also communication skills, internships, and industry interaction. The faculty is approachable and supportive, though the teaching quality can vary from department to department. The campus environment is friendly and inclusive, and there are plenty of events that keep you engaged throughout the semester. However, I do feel that the placement process and research opportunities could be more streamlined, especially for students in technical and interdisciplinary fields. Overall, IILM is a good place for students who value a balance of academics, networking, and personal development.
Decent infrastructure, average lab facilities, and theory-heavy approach. Faculty quality varies a few are genuinely good, others just read slides. Research exposure is minimal unless you push for it yourself. Industry links are better for management than for biotech, so don�t expect cutting-edge projects. Good place if you�re self-driven; mediocre if you rely on the system.
