The Université Côte d’Azur was established in 2015, as a cluster of all of the major higher education and research institutions in the Côte d’Azur region. The subsequent “Initiative of Excellence” (IDEX) recognition in 2016 confirmed the strength of our world-class university model and continues to support internationally renowned innovation in research and education.
UCA supports scholarly pursuits that contribute to the creation of knowledge and understanding within a transdisciplinary approach. UCA is developing a new suite of educational programs that have been created with the goal of establishing and reinforcing strong links with international and commercial partners. This strategy is also being developed with a view towards the regional context, the need for continuing and life-long education, and the current evolution towards innovative teaching approaches.
A research-intensive university, the Université Côte d'Azur seeks to strengthen the link between training and research. UCA’s research strategy is part of a coherent and ambitious site policy with a strong international focus. It is particularly attentive to developing the interfaces between the academic excellence of UCA research teams and the potential for innovation that is present in the university ecosystem. For international researchers and doctoral students, Fac-Habitat offers housing ranging from studios to T2 apartments. Since 1985, Fac-Habitat has offered residence hall accommodation to young students under 30, but also to researchers and instructors.
