About

History

The IEE-ULB is one of the oldest institutes for teaching and research dedicated to European Studies. It was created in 1962 by the Board of Directors of the ULB. The 1st academic year starts in October 1963. It has evolved at the pace of European construction.

Education

The IEE-ULB covers mainly four disciplines: European law, political science, economics and history. As an interdisciplinary centre for research and teaching, it trains specialists in European issues.

Research

As a Jean Monnet centre of excellence, the IEE-ULB is recognised for its expertise in European studies. 10 research centres cover several themes in close coordination with our partner faculties.

The IEE-ULB runs its own interdisciplinary research projects. It also promotes work carried out on European issues within units and research centres of its partner faculties.

Career

At IEE-ULB, we prepare our students for their insertion into the marketplace, and into a career in the field of European affairs.

Some of our Masters and specialized Masters programmes include a professionalisation module and an internship. Proud of its 7500 alumni, the IEE-ULB encourages the exchange between our alumni and its current students.
