Education

Manhattan College offers more than 100 programs in six distinct schools — a complexity not usually found in an institution with only 4,000 students.

Research

The College pursues this mission through programs that integrate a broad liberal education with concentration in specific disciplines in the arts and sciences or with professional preparation in business, education and engineering.

Career

Manhattan College is ranked as one of the top schools in the nation for having graduates that get jobs and earn high salaries. Career preparation starts freshman year and continues past graduation with our career services for students and alumni.

Student services

The transition to college, balancing a demanding academic workload and living away from home for the first time can be challenging. Our accredited Counseling Center is staffed by counselors who specialize in helping you cope with these issues, and address other concerns such as substance abuse and depression.

Housing services

  • Living on campus in one of our five residence halls is an important part of the full college experience. Your floormates will become your second family — a network of friends who you'll bond with over shared meals, late night study sessions and Netflix binges.
  • Each of our residence halls has a resident director, a staff member who coordinates residence life programming and oversees the resident assistants, better known as RAs. RAs are students, typically upperclassmen, who live on each floor of the hall and serve as a liaison and resource for the residents. RAs plan regular activities, like game night and trips to popular New York City destinations, to create a bonded community on their floor.

Library services

The library building is open to Manhattan College students, faculty, staff, and administrators ONLY.

Medical services

Our on-campus Health Services office is staffed by medical providers who can diagnose and treat minor illnesses and injuries, or help you with a referral to a local hospital or medical practice to care for more serious illnesses and injuries. Health Services also manages the required health records each student must provide.

Campus life

  • 23 acres in size
  • 2 campus areas connected by a student commons building
  • Located in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx
  • 10 miles from midtown Manhattan

Sports facilities

Our Fitness Center is one of the most popular destinations on campus — and with good reason. This state-of-the-art facility has touch screen cardio machines, locker rooms with free towel service, circuit and strength training stations, and virtual reality bikes. The robust schedule of group exercise classes and an affordable personal training program help you stay fit and focused.

If I could choose again, I'd pick this college

Great place to learn, its on a hill so a lot of walking. There's diversity. You see students even at night time so it's safe. There's a parking garage with a lot of space. It's full of trees so it within the nature

Student advocacy

I believe the university provided great opportunities for those looking for growth and career advancement. They offered a multitude of internships and programs to help those find a career path. I disliked the way the university was unprepaird for online learning during the pandemic and were not accommodating for those who were struggling with the new style of learning. Although I would still recommend the university to those look to expand their horizons.

International Student

The good professor I've had at BMCC have been AMAZING, and they have really made my experience at the school. As an international student, I found the support when signing up for classes and help regarding classes lacking, but the help from the International Student Service Office has been consistently good and has given me a sense of security. However, administratively on campus, I think things are more complicated than they need be.
