Dickinson College

History

In 1783, Benjamin Rush, a revolutionary in both spirit and life, established Dickinson College with the intent of providing a different kind of liberal-arts education.

Education

Educational studies fosters within students a deep understanding of the complexity of education and schooling as well as an ability to think critically about the ways in which education intersects with a broad range of social, cultural, political and economic forces.

Research

Not only will you have the opportunity to conduct advanced research as an undergraduate that most wouldn’t experience until graduate school, you’ll also have the chance to work alongside faculty in the process.

Career

The Career Center teaches Dickinson students and alumni how tomake and execute career decisions and connects them toappropriate career opportunities.

Sports facilities

Thanks to a $6 million gift from Samuel G. Rose ’58 and Julie Walters, a new two-story, 22,000-square-foot athletics-training center replaced the 1960s-era locker rooms at Dickinson’s recently renovated Biddle Field. The new facility is named the Durden Athletic Training Center to honor the tenure of former president William G. Durden ’71 and his wife, Dr. Elke Durden.
