With around 9,000 graduates thus far and roughly 4,000 students, the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien is Austria’s largest purely technical university of applied sciences.

UAS Technikum Wien was founded in 1994 and in 2000 it became the first institution in Vienna to receive the status of a university of applied sciences. It became a member of the European University Association (EUA) in 2012 and is also a network partner of FEEI – Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industries.


The educational offerings consist of 12 bachelor’s and 17master’s degree programs, which are offered as full-time, part-time and/or distance study programs. Eight degree programs are taught in English. The educational offerings are based on a solid scientific foundation and are also practice-oriented.

Library services

The library of UAS Technikum Wien offers 18 working and reading stations as well as numerous computers and laptop connections in rooms that feature an attractive green color scheme. Students can also browse through the library’s offerings in a comfortable lounge area.

The library currently has over 18,000 pieces of media available, including books, master’s theses, magazines and CDs.

Cafeteria Mia&Mason

The cafeteria Mia & Mason at UAS Technikum Wien offers a wide selection of lunchtime meals as well as small hot dishes, snacks, sandwiches, desserts and fruit throughout the day. The cafeteria is run by a leading local catering firm, Mensen Betriebs GmbH. It is located on the ground floor in Building A on the main campus.

Café C++

In Building F on the main campus, Café C++ allows students to grab a bite to eat or to simply relax while enjoying a cup of coffee. The café serves up soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, fruit and much more. All of the dishes are also available for takeout, and there is a weekly special.
