Clarks Summit University

Come experience life at CSU, where you will grow academically and spiritually. All aspects of your CSU experience are training grounds for your future career, from classroom learning to the relationships built in residence halls, prayer and worship in weekday chapel and co-curricular activities.

Originally named Baptist Bible Seminary because the school only offered a three–year Bible degree, CSU was established in 1932 by a group of pastors led by Dr. Richard J. Murphy. Its original purpose of preparing men and women to serve Christ as they carried out the biblical command to “go into all the world and preach the gospel” has not changed.

What career is God leading you toward? With more than 40 undergraduate programs, nearly 20 master’s options and two doctoral degrees with Baptist Bible Seminary, you can be intentional about following the Lord’s lead. Explore on-campus, online and accelerated programs, including high school dual enrollment.

As a CSU student, you have an opportunity to be employed in various positions on campus. CSU’s on-campus positions serve as Christ-Centered and Career-Ready, experience-based learning opportunities.

Student Life

Campus life

Named the “Most Beautiful Bible College in the Country” in 2017 by Christian Universities Online, our campus is in suburban South Abington Township, nestled among the hills on more than 111 acres of beautiful, Pennsylvanian woodland.

The peaceful and spacious campus includes a four-acre pond, residence halls, café, academic buildings rich in architecture and a Recreation Center.

Sports facilities

Athletes will enjoy the opportunity to sharpen their skills on one of our Defender Athletics teams, and everyone is encouraged to participate in our intramural sports programs.

Student clubs

You can jump into a range of activities and organizations offered at CSU.

Student theatrical performances, Concert Choir and other performance opportunities provide a creative outlet for some and quality entertainment for others.

Student organizations and residence halls produce creative activities and campus-wide socials. In the past, residence halls have organized events like Carter Hall’s “Carter Clue,” a live-action game of clue with a different theme each year, and Ridley Hall’s “Couples Kickball,” a costumed kickball game.
