Housing services
Student Housing Foundation for the Region of Lappeenranta LOAS is the housing community for Lappeenranta’s students, Lahden Talot for Lahti’s students, Kouvolan Asunnot for Kouvola students and Mikalo for students studying in Mikkeli programme. Students are lucky when it comes to housing in these cities, because student housing communities have you covered when it comes to finding you an apartment where it is pleasant to live and study.
Library services
LUT Academic Library is the joint library for LUT University and LAB University of Applied Sciences and provides library services also for the general public in Lappeenranta and in Lahti.
LUT Academic Library Guides includes a wide range of instructions and guidance in the LUT's and LAB's teaching and research fields. The guides are intended for students, staff and other customers.
Campus life
The campus has excellent sports and recreational facilities, such as the well-equipped gym on the ground floor. In addition, the Lappeenranta campus houses the J. Hyneman Center (JHC) for prototyping, named after one of LUT’s professors of practice, Jamie Hyneman. JHC provides students with resources and tools for building and testing prototypes, enabling the practical development of new ideas and solutions.
Sports facilities
On both LUT University campuses, in Lahti and Lappeenranta, they have great places where you can enjoy sports as well as other activities.
LUT’s Lappeenranta campus has three sports halls. There is one smaller one with a mirror wall, where you can practice, for example, martial arts, and two larger sports halls where you can play, for instance, badminton or volleyball. The sports halls are located on campus, so you do not have to spend time or money moving from one place to another.
On LUT’s Lahti campus, in turn, you can play team sports, such as floorball, futsal or rugby. LUT also has many student-run sports clubs that are happy to bring in new students!

The environment of the campus is very comfortable
I really like the interaction of students and lecturers in the school
diffrent and new method of learning
A different and new experience with theoretical courses. Data analysis should have been included, but the teaching method for each course was unique and dynamic. The connection with the European Union job market is limited.
Studying at LUT
The teachers and the location of the university are quite satisfactory. There are multiple homeworks every week which is great to reinforce what we’ve learnt. The thing I did not like was the lack of information. Finding instructions for homeworks or deadlines, or basically trying to be informed by the courses overally were very difficult and draining. Except that there are a lot of experiences to have for students and Finland is a great place to live.
