MBU - Montreux Business University (previously known as Montreux Business School), was founded in 2010.


Our small class sizes enable the students to closely interact with the professors, as well as gain insight from their various global business backgrounds.Due to the individual attention, small classes provide a more effective learning environment.

The international community of the Montreux Business University is growing. We have over 15 nationalities studying at MBU. Students experience the multinational environment and the renowned Swiss hospitality, help increase global awareness and cultural exchange, all while pursuing their education.


Research at the Montreux Business University seeks to advance the knowledge of business and management, the practice of management in the business world, as well as the learning and therefore the teaching of management. MBU research comprises two areas:

  • Business and Management Knowledge
  • Business and Management Practice


MBU cares about your future career. That is why we provide academic and career advising services to counsel and guide you during your studies and after graduation.

The Dean of MBU with the Career Counselor will:

  • Discuss your academic progress with you;

Students’ Center

A well-rounded education also includes social and cultural activities as well as sports events. At our Student Center, students can find an array of clubs and committees that will make their stay at MBU an exciting and life-enriching experience. The Student Center also provides the following services:

Housing services

The housing service helps students find a furnished apartment in Montreux or its surrounding areas. The monthly rent for a furnished studio varies between 1’200 and 1’900 Swiss francs.

Library services

In MBU library students can find online and offline access to research material, such as books, journals and databases. Also, separate meeting rooms are available for use by study groups.

ICT services

Every student has access to 4 Gigabit/Second LAN and 1 GB/s WiFi down/upload. Our classes are equipped with Interactive Smart Boards, as well as interactive streaming (Chromecast/Apple, DLNA) in every classroom.Our online courses are supplemented with 360° Video streaming and Virtual Reality tools, and we are proudly investing in latest technology for the benefits of future generations.

Student Life

Campus life

The state-of-the-art facilities of Montreux Business University are housed in a beautiful Belle Époque building that first opened its doors as a hotel in the 19th century.

MBU ideally combines both historic decors with highly modern facilities: the lectures take place in beautiful classrooms equipped with state-of-the art technology: interactive boards, beamer, laptop for the professors etc.

Students can enjoy their free time in the students’ lounge with sofas, a TV with international channels, a DVD player and computers.

Our students can access the facilities of MBU whenever they want, or need to, thanks to a very convenient fingerprint system at the entrance door of the building.

Sports facilities

At the Montreux Business University we focus on educating the “whole person” through a holistic approach, which takes into account the relationship between physical fitness and academic achievement. Therefore, during their studies at MBU, students have the opportunity to participate in numerous sports and recreational activities conveniently located near the MBU campus:

Student clubs

Every September, elections are held to appoint the members of the Student Association, who promote and safeguard the interests of the student community. The Association is also responsible for these extracurricular activities:

All academic programs at MBU are internationally recognised by ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs). In addition, MBU is the first university in Switzerland being certified by both ISO 9001: 2008 (Quality Management) and ISO 29990 (Learning Services for Education and Training).

We are member of EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) and CEEMAN (Central and Eastern European Management), proving our quality, international networking and cooperation.
