History

John Sperling, PhD, a Cambridge-educated economist, professor and entrepreneur, founded University of Phoenix in 1976 in response to the changing needs of the workplace. It was part of his commitment to provide adults with the higher education they would need to fill those needs and for forty years, that’s exactly what we’ve done.

Education

They offer a range of education degree programs at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral level, from early childhood education to education administration. Whether you're embarking on an entirely new career path toward teacher licensure – or you're looking to build upon your current skillset with continuing education, you’ll get the support and resources you’ll need. Your success is our goal – and through a series of program assessments, we’ll ensure you're gaining the skills and expertise you'll need to be an effective educator.

Committed Online Professors

Great school overall. Being in an online program, you must commit yourself to achieving school. Majority of the professors genuinely care about you and your education. The best resource is their online library. Once you figure out how to use it, nothing else like it.

University of Phoenix

Attending the University of Phoenix has been a positive and flexible experience, especially for working adults or those managing busy schedules. One of the standout aspects is the flexible class schedulingcourses are offered online and often in a manageable, one-class-at-a-time format, which makes it easier to stay focused and balance education with personal and professional responsibilities. The professors are experienced professionals who bring real-world knowledge into the virtual classroom. Many of them have careers outside of teaching, which adds practical value to the lessons. They are generally responsive, supportive, and committed to student success. While expectations are clear, the instructors often understand the challenges of adult learners and are willing to work with students who communicate openly. In terms of professionalism, the University of Phoenix maintains a structured and organized approach. The online platform is easy to navigate, assignments are clearly outlined, and there are consistent deadlines to keep students on track. Communication through email, forums, and announcements is reliable, and support services are available for both academic and technical help. Overall, the University of Phoenix is a solid option for students looking for a flexible and professional learning environment, especially those juggling work, family, or other responsibilities.

Amount of sources

Throughout my experience, not only have I had the convenience of studying from my home but it also taught me self-discipline. Schedules were easy to follow and they were laid out and well-organized. Sources were reliable due to counselors calling monthly to check up on their enrolled students and advise them on a direction for their careers.
