Student services
When you enrol on your programme of study at ONCAMPUS, you will be assigned a Personal Tutor, who is responsible for ensuring you have adequate academic support during your time with us.
Your Personal Tutor is the first person you should go to if you have a problem: if they can’t help you, they will be able to direct you to someone who can. You will also have regular tutorial sessions with them, which will cover material like correct academic referencing, adjusting to life in the UK, and preparing for your successful progression to your university course.
Housing services
ONCAMPUS Reading offers safe, secure, high quality, en-suite accommodation a five minute walk from the University’s London Road campus and the Oracle Shopping centre and 15 minutes' walk from Whiteknights campus and Reading train station. Bus links are right outside your door which means the outskirts of Reading are also very accessible.
Library services
On the Whiteknights campus there is a wide range of shops, the student union, lots of places to eat and a 24-hour library.
ICT services
Internet access is free across campus and included within accommodation rent.
Medical services
Students registered in the UK for full-time courses of six months or more are eligible to receive full health care from the National Health Service (NHS) regardless of country of origin. You will have the same rights to health care as a UK resident. This means that you register with a GP (local doctor), receive hospital treatment, treatment for pre-existing conditions and full maternity services.
Campus life
The Union’s shop, Campus Central, is open seven days a week during term time and offers meal deals, vegetarian and gluten-free sandwiches and wraps, takeaway Fairtrade coffee and tea, and freshly baked goods. It stocks a full range of groceries, including fruit and vegetables, frozen meals and toiletries. You can also buy bus tickets, stamps, lottery tickets and official University merchandise.
Sports facilities
The University is recognised as one of the best places in the country for rowers to study; its world-class boathouse facility on the River Thames offers professional coaching and a rowers’ fitness gym. SportsPark, located on the edge of the beautiful Whiteknights campus, offers extensive indoor and outdoor facilities, including four squash courts, two football pitches, two rugby pitches, five floodlit hard tennis courts, one hockey pitch, a lacrosse pitch, American football pitch and two cricket squares (one county standard and one synthetic).
