EIT RawMaterials Academy

EIT RawMaterials initiated and funded by the EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology), a body of the European Union, is the largest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. Its vision is to develop raw materials into a major strength for Europe. Its mission is to enable sustainable competitiveness of the European minerals, metals and materials sector along the value chain

History

In 2015, EIT RawMaterials e.V. (Eingetragener Verein, German Registered Association) and EIT RawMaterials GmbH (Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, German Limited Liability Company) were established as the KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) legal entities.

Education

The RawMaterials Academy is the overarching brand of all the education activities of the EIT RawMaterials. These range from innovative education projects launched via calls and run by the Innovation Community’s partners to a number of centrally operated projects. Activities across the entire ecosystem of learners – PhD students, Masters’ students, industrial partners, professionals within the raw materials sector, and wider society – foster new ways of learning and teaching by connecting academia, industry and research organisations.

Student services

Wider Society Learning projects at EIT RawMaterials raise society’s awareness of the use of and need for raw materials. Projects at EIT RawMaterials inform, educate and reach out to school children, the general public, NGOs and decision-makers across Europe.

Student clubs

Our vision is an alumni network which enables you to continuously connect with each other, linking industry, academia and innovators across sectors, contributing to world-class solutions to societal challenges and enabling growth and opportunities for skilled jobs in the raw materials sector.

EIT RawMaterials Alumni is led by the Alumni for the Alumni – we work for you! Ellie, our full-time Alumni Manager, is supported by a team of six volunteers who make up the Alumni Board: Ali, Marilu, Davide, Felipe, Théo and Francisco.
