Selkirk College

Feel at home in our classrooms and communities, nestled within the welcoming West Kootenay and Boundary regions. Since 1966, Selkirk College has been providing innovative and unique learning opportunities.

  • The journey of equity, diversity and inclusion at Selkirk College began formalizing in 2018. At that time, we were finalizing Building Remarkable Futures: Strategic Plan 2019-2024. Along with Environmental Sustainability, Health & Wellness, Innovation and Reconciliation, Diversity & Inclusion was included as an institutional commitment.
  • A Diversity & Inclusion Committee was established in November 2019 to guide action on this commitment with three working groups engaged in research and consultation focusing on systemic change, gender diversity in leadership and the student experience.

Selkirk Innovates is your regional leader of applied research and innovation. Innovation is woven through the fabric of every department, program and initiative at Selkirk College. We are here to support and enable communities to adapt and thrive in the face of change. We are also here to enhance the student learning experience and foster a sustainable and inclusive organizational climate.
