Ulysseus European University

Ulysseus European University is an international, open-to-the-world, person-centered, and entrepreneurial university. It is an alliance of 8 European universities: University of Seville (ES), Université Côte d'Azur (FR), University of Genoa (IT), Technical University of Košice (SK), MCI The Entrepreneurial School (AT), Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (FI), University of Münster (DE) and University of Montenegro (ME).

History

Ulysseus European University was born in 2020 and it is one of the 50 European Universities alliances funded by the Erasmus+ programme. European Universities are an ambitious EU initiative aimed at establishing transnational alliances between higher institutions from all across Europe, for the benefit of their students, staff and society. 

Education

Ulysseus European University vision for 2030 is to develop an excellency-recognized and internationally attractive, open to the world, persons-centred and entrepreneurial European University for the citizens of the future. Ulysseus will implement a series of student-centered, flexible, and work-based European Joint Programmes, interlinked with research and knowledge transfer activities. The core of Ulysseus focuses on the creation of European double, multiple and joint degrees at undergraduate and masters level, an internship programme, short-format courses on key topics, Erasmus+ & Horizon Europe new projects, the creation of Joint Research Centers, Joint Incubators and Living labs.

Research

Ulysseus European University has a scientific community of over 15,000 members, 145 faculties and schools, 1,600 research groups and 140 research centres.

At Ulysseus, we are fully committed with the European Strategy for Universities objective of interlinking education, research, and innovation, at the service to society. Based on this goal, we have built up our model of European university as an Innovation Ecosystem, taken to a European Level, for developing solutions for specific challenges from Innovation Hubs.

Career

On is the key objectives of Ulysseus is to reduce the competences gap, by preparing highly skilled digital, multilingual, and entrepreneurial European citizens through a range of combined innovative learning and teaching activities, with specific attention to career development and boosting competences that will be relevant in the future. Ulysseus has its Career Development Programme Handbook, in order to offer students  from all levels a range of activities that will allow them to design their individual study plans and enhance their potential to construct their personal and professional future.

The Ulysseus Campus is composed by the following joint structures:

The Central Management Office with its General Coordination unit (University of Seville), International Center (MCI, The Entrepreneurial School), Digitalization Unit (Université Côte d'Azur) and Dissemination Unit (University of Seville); Digital Platform (Université Côte d'Azur) and 8 Ulysseus Innovation Hubs (IHs): Sustainable Energy, Transport, Mobility for Smart Cities (Seville), Ageing & Wellbeing (Nice), Robotics (Genoa), Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Impact (Innsbruck), Digitalization Transformation of Industry (Košice), Applied AI for Business & Education (Helsinki), Socio-ecological Sustainability (Münster) & Cybersecurity (Podgorica). 

Sports facilities

Student clubs

Each partner university has its own student association. Additionally, The Ulysseus student association is under development and will soon be consolidated. 

Ulysseus provides a steady in-person and virtual mobility with automatic recognition and the massive use of the European Student Card, as well as an intense international activity to promote Ulysseus as a highly attractive, competitive and open to the world model of University.
