HELBUS has its roots in the early 2000’s, when it operated as an exchange program known as Academy Access, offering semesters abroad in Malaysia. Over 500 students from 40 universities in Europe took part in this program.
The HELBUS program is taught completely in English. Our visiting professors come from prestigious universities in nine countries and will challenge you to think globally. Students take an active part in the lessons thus developing their communication and presentation skills that employers highly value. Over 80 % of HELBUS professors hold a doctorate.
HELBUS is a new private business school in Finland founded by Professor Veikko Jääskeläinen, the former rector of Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, and Dr. Kari Jääskeläinen. HELBUS prepares students for their careers in international business. The curriculum underscores the skills and knowledge that are required by employers in the 21st century. Additionally, students learn important personal skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving and interaction. We are proud to say that 94 % of our most recent graduates are overall satisfied with the quality of the programme, according to our student survey.
Students are able to buy a wholesome meal, coffee and snacks at the campus cafeteria, and have free access to the extensive business library facilities of Aalto University, which is about a 15-minute walk from school.
With only half a million inhabitants, Helsinki is a relatively small capital city, but a lively one. A swimming pool and extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities are available in the Töölö neighborhood, which boasts small shops, restaurants, coffee shops and lovely green parks. The seaside is in close proximity and campus is just 10 minutes away from downtown Helsinki by tram.
HELBUS students organize various activities and events in Helsinki through our thriving student association, HELBUS Core.
HELBUS received accreditation from the largest accrediting organisation in the UK, Pearson Edexcel in August 2013, after less than a year of operations. Enrolment for its second year grew threefold.
