History
- 1904: Wageningen University: Wageningen education has been developed to a higher level and the institution is now called the National Higher College of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry.
- 1918: Wageningen's status as an institute of higher education is legally ratified, and it becomes the National Agricultural College on 9 March 1918.

Student services
- The WUR student psychologist offers short-term counseling (to a maximum of five meetings) for minor psychological problems. This is free and confidential!
- Student Career Services supports you in your orientation on the labour market. We facilitate you by giving personal career advice, providing you a platform to meet employers and explore your wishes and talents through workshops and career events. Both students and recent graduates are welcome.
Housing services
Wageningen University & Research has a large community of international students. We understand that it is very hard to look for your own place in a different country. That's why we have gathered information about how to find a room in Wageningen as a way for you to start your search. Idealis (the main student housing cooperation in Wageningen) will offer their rooms via ROOM.nl. Library services
- The core task of the library is to share and disseminate knowledge. By developing and maintaining a state-of-the-art knowledge infrastructure, WUR Library contributes to the effectiveness of the research and education at WUR.
Medical services
Non-Dutch students must be adequately insured for medical expenses while staying in the Netherlands. This will be checked by the registration officials when you apply for a residence permit.
Campus life
The campus of Wageningen University & Research measures 70.000m2 and is chosen as most sustainable university of the Netherlands. It is home to students, teachers, researchers and staff from over 103 different countries.
Sports facilities
Sports Centre de Bongerd (SCB) is the sports centre for students and staff of Wageningen University & Research. We welcome everyone who would like to become active, from beginners to accomplished athletes. Come to have fun or relax, to work on your health and endurance, to push your fitness boundaries, or to enhance your athletic performance.
Student clubs
Several kinds of (student) sports clubs are active in and around the sports centre de Bongerd's facilities. Students who possess a WUR card whose sports rights have been activated can join these clubs for free or at a reduced rate.
Wageningen Food Safety Research is accredited for the organization of Proficiency Tests by the Dutch Accreditation Council since 2006.
